There is a saying: the perfect is the enemy of the good. That applies here, clearly. Programming projects need to be built with that in mind. Why would you use a programming language like CF at all if you truly want "pursuit of the ideal"? That's not what it's designed for. CF is a loosely-typed procedural language with a way to write some OO code. CF allows you to do all sorts of stupid things. It doesn't force separation of logic and presentation, or even give you a gentle kick in that direction. In an ideal world, no one would use it! We'd all be using Java or C#, I guess.
