It's important to note that CF will start at your web server root,
which may not be your website root if you are running on a multihomed
website. For example, if you are running IIS and you set the web
server's root to C:\inetpub\www then CF will start looking in that
directory for a directory called 'com' and then one called 'entities'
and so forth. So, if your actual website is located at
C:\inetpub\www\domain then you need to reference your CFC as
domain.com.entities.entity - this is one of those things that's easy
to reconcile if you run your own server, but can be a pain if someone
else does.

I'm not sure if Apache is better behaved about this, since Virtual
Servers have their own document roots, and I'm sure there's a way to
do it in IIS (if someone would care to share, I'd really appreciate
it) but this is a problem I've run into countless times, and it's a
real pain when it comes to portability. If you can get your host to
set up mappings, though, that's a good way to go.

It's a metaphor for life itself. For that matter, everything in life
is a metaphor for life. Except life. Life is probably a metaphor for
metaphor. -- James Lileks
