For that level of control/detail you would need a Java debugger.  That would have to run on the Server.  You would then need to use some remote access to the debugger to control the execution.
 
Not to that level of control..... but do we use a product called SeeFusion that can give you basic stats against a running page or query (not down to a function or method level though) that is a Java application which is non-intrusive.
 
Dont know of anything else in this space though.

Maybe.  I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but it sounds about right
;-)

I just think - on long processes - it might be more useful to see some
of the debugging stuff as it happens, rather than after it happens.
Given CF has the stuff "in there somewhere", I was wondering if it was
possible to liberate it.
