Jean, This is very interesting - I've been pondering doing the same thing soon (after I graduate). I think Dave Shuck is also working on a similar project.
What features are you planning to incorporate? Is it done via SQL Server? Can people use their own DNS name? I'd like to discuss this with you, and I'm responding to the group instead of individually because I think others may want to join into the discussion. It has more to do with setting up a profitable business than the technical aspect of using ColdFusion components, but something that I think would be good for the group is to have a common example base to work from - a Northwinds if you will. Would you consider making this an Open-Source project? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jean Moniatte Sent: Thursday, April 20, 2006 6:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [CFCDev] UGAL.net I have not been actively posting or replying to this list, but have been an avid reader for some time now. While reading CFCDev, I have been developing UGAL.net, now available at http://www.ugal.net. Some would call it a website builder - I do not like the term, but it says what it is. UGAL.net runs CF7 and uses its own framework. It tries to implement the practices advocated by the smart brains here, when I understand them (no kidding) and when they make my life as a developer easier. So, besides being an obvious plug for UGAL.net (which I hope you will not hate me for), this email is a sincere thank you to the CFCDev list. Being under the hood for 6 months, my Inbox was populated mostly by you guys, and it has always been very interesting reading you. The discussions that happen here have been useful to me many times.
