Mach-ii & Hibernate! Sweet, I like it, did you have a lot of trouble with log4j setting up Hibernate with CF?...

I look forward to seeing some more tenacious old-schoolers on the ColdSpring list!

I've learned CF3 and moved on to CF5, MX6 and MX7 (yes, I skipped CF4).
Back then (CF3) I was using only tags.
Now I'm using MX7 in a full OO application, with Mach-II as framework, with Hibernate for ORM, asynchronous gateways for heavy processing, cfscript whenever it's possible...
Next I'll be using CFAjax, Coldspring, something else...

If you can't change the way you do things, you're doomed in this industry...

Just my own $.02 in this - I think part of the person's preference also depends on when they learned CF. I suspect that those who prefer the Evaluate approach learned CF before CF5 or MX was released while the developers who try and exclusively use the bracketed approach learned CF after CF5/MX came out.
