Then allow me to apologize for not seeing the previous thread to have
context.

It may have been a good idea to have followed the entire exchange.
Especially the part about changing the name of the list. I was
responding in part to Roland Collins' message, which I've repeated
below. In other words, it was a mild joke. I assume you understand the
term.

But rather than let this degenerate to a flame war etc., as far as I'm
concerned this matter is dropped.

Larry,
I wish you all the luck with your spam.

I offered a solution for spam blocking and asked for your input on your
preventative measures.

I am a guest of this list and I tend to not call it CFCSpam out of
respect to Ray. I have received the email in question and it has been
safely blocked on several occassions.

My apologies if you felt my response was extreme. I tend to be direct.

Cheers,
Teddy

Pardon me. where was I being hostile or uncalled for? I was just asking

think that your response was a bit extreme.

Larry,
We all hate spam and I can sympathize with your dilema. Most mailing
lists suffer from spam.

Your intentions are noble, but your delivery was a little uncalled for.

I have all my mailing lists sent to my gmail account instead of my mail
servers as gmail offers excellent spam filtering options and spammers
cannot use my contact lists to spam others.

Do you have any spam filtering software on your mail client?

Spam blocking is a coorperated solution meaning that both clients (mail
receivers) and servers(mailing lists) have to prevent the transfer of
these emails.

If you would like an invite to Gmail, I have 50 invitations sitting
idle.
