Hey all, Going Mac opened my eyes to Apache. Once converted, I swore I would never again switch my web root in IIS to change applications. If I had stayed Windows and discovered a tool to switch applications quicker, I might have been satisfied, but it's hella better to have any domain available that I define. Our shop runs Apache on our development laptops. We have several apps running so it is way more productive to have our local copy ready without having to configure IIS. Apache is very easy to install and configure. I do suggest picking a webroot outside the default installation directory. In fact, you could make C:\Inetpub\wwwroot the Apache DocumentRoot. You could possibly run the ColdFusion web connector to switch from one server to another. I uninstalled IIS completely and re-installed ColdFusion to the default Apache DocumentRoot (C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs), which in hindsight wasn't the best choice. There are plenty of tutorials or guides to installing Apache. The up front time investment in switching is totally recoverable. And of course the other upside is that package path issues become irrelevant. ;-) Paul

Not perfect, but better than nothing when working on multiple projects. That guy did a good job at explaining it: http://weblogs.asp.net/stevencohn/articles/59782.aspx Jean Moniatte [EMAIL PROTECTED] On 3/27/07, Dave Watts <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Actually, you can have multiple virtual servers on XP. I'm pretty sure that just allows you to switch the configuration of your one virtual server; it doesn't allow you to run multiple virtual servers concurrently. It's still a handy tool, though.
