You are asking for it. Certainly, you can't argue that PHP/MySQL is a much better combination than CF/MySQL. Perhaps if CF had driver support for MySQL instead of using ODBC this wouldn't be an issue.
But noooo, you have to buy Oracle or DB2 if you want to use a half decent database on a Unix flavoured CF server. (MS-SQL isn't an option...what real hosting environment uses Windows servers anyway?)
