I believe it, but that's terrible.  The very thought that any one process
can accidentally cause the server to terminate is horrible.

There should be *nothing* that a database connection client can do to bring
the backend down.  Anything short of that is simply poor error
checking/recovery on the part of the makers of the backend.

Perhaps if you offered to pay M$ more money they would produce a more robust
SQL server?  Or maybe you can get a better version with the next upgrade AKA
PATCH.
