Docomo Labs USA has been distributing an open source implementation of SEND
for several years. Unfortunately, we no longer have anyone here who is
maintaining the code and therefore in the near future we would like to drop
distribution by removing the link from our Web page. The code is licensed
under the BSD license and therefore anyone can continue to maintain and
distribute it, including incorporating it into commercial products (subject,
of course, to any IPR from other parties), with no further obligation to
Docomo except to keep Docomo's name on the code that was developed at Docomo
and to continue using the BSD license on that code. Is there anyone who
would like to take over the code and continue maintaining it, including
working on whatever extensions the CSI WG decides upon? If so, please let me
know by the end of Sept. so we can vector any future questions on the code
to you. If we can't find anybody that wants to take over the code, we will
likely remove the link from our Web page sometime in the near future,
archive the code, and shut down the distribution mailing list with no
referral for future questions.

Note that this does not mean that Docomo is no longer interested in SEND.
SEND is an important part of the entire IPv6 security architecture, and any
work in CGI that helps to extend last hop link security is important for
future wireless networks.
