If you intend to migrate everything from iCal to Chandler — if you intend to
_cease_ using iCal — then that precaution can be ignored :)

First, get your iCal communicating with Chandler Hub

If you begin by moving a single event, you'll gain a 'feel' for how iCal
presents its connection to Chandler Hub. Two steps, simple:

1. from the Apple iCal list of CALENDARS, select an event

2. drag that event to a collection on CHANDLER HUB.

The screen shots below show before and after for a single event.

Judy: after you satisfy yourself that

* a single event can be moved, successfully, from iCal to the hub

then we can show you

* how to migrate everything else, en masse.
