ok, since i configured the ical to sync with caldev this morn, i was
planning on possibly copying the url that googles script make for
ical... it doesn't have the user name, but instead a long string of
characters...

ah, yes this is what i used and it generated a url a little different:
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/xxxxxxxxxxgroup.calendar.google.com/user
where xxxx is a very long string of alphanumerics and not my account
name...

yes i'm on 10.5.6...

well, since changing my ical setup to use the caldev link, i keep
getting error messages every few minutes:
"Calendar
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user/
  could not be found."
or
"Request Error: Calendar could not be found"

quitting are restarting fixes the connection temporarily, but then the
error repeats after a few min... so i'll probably have to return to
using busysync for ical to google calendar... unfortunately, that
will leave out chandler for me for the time being... :-(

i'm looking forward to the day that the standards are more mature an
the various calendar servers and clients all work with the protocols
as well as email servers and clients... but given how companies like
microsoft work, it may be wishful thinking that they will all move
toward a standard or remain so after they have enough installation
base (my opinion only and not necessarily that of any employer)...

thanks for your reply-
