I'm wholly responsible for my own messes :) and I'm actually very pleased to
be putting myself through this type of routine before any work colleague is
bugged.

Moreover it's a fine test of the robustness of Chandler Desktop
backup/restore routines.

In this case Things 1.0.1 is a factor. Maybe Apple iCal and Sync Engine are
factors, too. I shouldn't point the finger, simply beware. There are
probably many other software titles that will deserve interop testing in due
course.

My own feedback, planned but not submitted, is that removal is not an
acceptable default when sync is enabled.

Daily removal may be an acceptable default for as long as Things is in
island mode, but FWIW they should alert the user to the consequences as soon
as the user aims to sync.
