You are correct, notes are encoded in plain text. But the widget will
temporarily "remember" style information that was pasted in from
elsewhere. If you close Chandler and restart, the note should be shown
in plain text.

URLs are slightly different. They will be shown underlined and can be
clicked on, but they are not really stored as hyperlinks. It's just that
the display code looks at the contents of the note and looks for
anything that looks like a URL (probably things that start with
"http://";). It's not perfect, but it does the job most of the time.
