Hi
<http://www.qu-s.eu/>
For a 1.x version of product, I'm EXTREMELY impressed! Great use of
available frameworks etc..
Below, some suggestions for improvement.
==============================
1. Support for System Services
==============================
Examples
--------
a) pass selected text from a Qu-s browser window, or a WebArchive from
within a Qu-s note, or selected text from a note, or the whole note,
or an entire Qu-s project -- to other Services-enabled applications
b) pass a WebArchive and/or thumbnail to a Services-enabled version of
Diigo
-- and maybe present the text of a Qu-s note as page comments
within Diigo
-- already, Diigo developers are working on upload features
c) pass stuff to DEVONThink Pro Office
d) pass stuff to a Services-enabled version of Evernote
and last but not least:
e) Qu-s to receive from other Services-enabled applications.
<http://www.diigo.com/06duy> highlights forthcoming improvements to
Services.
=======
2. APIs
=======
Will there be any public expression of APIs for Qu-s?
========================
3. Support for Spotlight
========================
Using Apple's Spotlight menu to find text within a note should:
a) bring the note to foreground
b) probably highlight the text.
==========
4. Interop
==========
Seeing that notes are either not complete, or complete: the first
thing that came to mind is CalDAV.
The second thing that came to mind is Chandler Project. Loosely: for
an item in Chandler, I'd like desktop and web UIs to offer a link to a
corresponding note within Qu-s.
<http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/CosmoArchitecture> for an
architectural overview of Chandler Server a.k.a. Cosmo. There's an
instance of Chandler Server at <https://hub.chandlerproject.org/
welcome> hosted by the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC).
<http://chandler2.osafoundation.org/> represents re-architectural work
in progress on Chandler 2.
(If you're already familiar with Chandler Desktop, and if you already
use it for group work on multiple projects: the concept at
<http://n2.nabble.com/-tp3007748p3007748.html
> may be of interest.)
---
All just food for thought.
Possibilities? Timeline?
* Suggestion 1 is echoed at <http://www.macupdate.com/reviews.php?id=30061
> and you could make Qu-s support for System Services as rich, or as
simple, as you like
* the other suggestions are more exotic ;)
Thanks and best regards
