If you issued a View-only ticket, and if your colleague used the green Apple
iCal, Google button, then he should have gained a read-only view of the
collection.

If you issued a more privilegedView and Edit ticket, and if your colleague
used the blue CalDAV button, then he may have seen an exclamation mark in
Lightning. If so, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536555
Mozilla Calendar bug 536555 is relevant.

If the address that you give to Lightning is *not* an invitation (with a
ticket in the address) then a prompt for authentication is normal.

Put another way: the two types of green button have different products,
depending on whether the Invite button was used. And the two types of blue
'CalDAV' buttons have different products.

updated, still work in progress. Should be clearer in due course :)
