This individual will be responsible for z/OS network perspective portions of large investment projects as well as providing expert product knowledge to support staff. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of z/OS, VTAM/SNA, TCP/IP, OSPF, VPN/IPSec, SSL/TLS, NDM and FTP. Familiarity with TPX, SuperSession, CA-Netmaster, XCOM, SMTP and Teleview preferred. Cisco IOS familiarity would also be a plus. The position must be knowledgeable of TCP/IP function and configuration, Enterprise Extender/SNA configuration, and Communications Server security suite (IPSec, AT-TLS, IDS, Filtering, etc.). It also requires knowledge of scripting and Rexx coding on the mainframe to automate solutions. This role will involve working closely with other ECS towers (z/OS operating system, CICS/MQ/DB2, Hardware, iSeries/Tandem) as well as the Global Networks team and business stakeholders to deliver on ECS project initiatives. As a member of the NSS engineering group, this role requires a combination of strong technical skills as well as an understanding of business processes and best practices to add value to the firm and align with strategic goals. The role does not directly involve shift-based on-call support, but weekend changes and coverage are occasionally required, and is expected to be reasonably available outside of working hours for incident escalation requiring specific expertise.
