Test and implement changes to the database. Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard computer data *Additional Information: * •Perform database performance analysis, ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance on Netezza and DB2 UDB systems. •Assist development teams with planning and implementing database changes and query optimization. •Recommend and implement a detailed security design based on minimum necessary privileges required. •Create, test, implement and monitor an automated set of procedures for database and server backups as well as necessary maintenance procedures including performing backup and restore activities. •Review SQL queries and database design for performance. •Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations. •Work closely with IBM support to manage hardware/software failures, appliance upgrades and install patches. •Install and configure DB2 in AIX or Linux environments. •Review and Patch of DB2, OS and Server firmware. •Support QA and DEV environments with refresh tasks. •Implement data, script and/or code changes into the production environment. •Ability to be on call 24 x 7 x 365 *EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* •Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of combined experience in Netezza and DB2 UDB administration. •Exposure to mainframe, desktop, and UNIX system support is required.
