The Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) is a
multidisciplinary research
center at NYU Abu Dhabi (UAE). Our mission is to develop tools that
significantly impact economic
development in emerging regions. Among other things, our goal is to bring
power to rural
communities off the grid, give remote villages access to health services

market information to improve food security in rural areas. CTED draws from
a broad multidisciplinary
expertise available at NYU and NYU Polytechnic Institute in economics and
economic development,
computer science, foreign aid policy, management, microfinance, global
health, politics, electrical
engineering, materials science and engineering.
