Talked to someone on the student government and it looks like there is
already a committee looking at doing this.
They shelved the idea because they were doubtful the school was large
enough yet, weren't sure about participation, etc.

There also isn't a broadcast communications discipline there, just
business communications.

The committee member I talked to seemed enthusiastic about making it a
web based radio station and wanted to know if we (columbusfreenet)
could host the site and pod casts on our server. I wanted to run this
by the group before giving a definitive answer.

She also liked the prospect of featuring local talent.

I also suggested (per the meeting in teh lolopht yesterday) that they
base the "studio" downtown.

If something like this were to develop, I think it would enhance
whatever relationship we already have with CSU and provide an in for
future collaboration with the university.
(IE: hosting an installfest, allowing students to perform honors
contracts with the freenet doing things like access point installs at
businesses, feasibility studies, etc.).
