Talked to someone on the student government and it looks like there is already a committee looking at doing this. They shelved the idea because they were doubtful the school was large enough yet, weren't sure about participation, etc.
There also isn't a broadcast communications discipline there, just business communications. The committee member I talked to seemed enthusiastic about making it a web based radio station and wanted to know if we (columbusfreenet) could host the site and pod casts on our server. I wanted to run this by the group before giving a definitive answer. She also liked the prospect of featuring local talent. I also suggested (per the meeting in teh lolopht yesterday) that they base the "studio" downtown. If something like this were to develop, I think it would enhance whatever relationship we already have with CSU and provide an in for future collaboration with the university. (IE: hosting an installfest, allowing students to perform honors contracts with the freenet doing things like access point installs at businesses, feasibility studies, etc.).
