I'm from Phenix City/Columbus, and I just started down here at Verizon
in Tampa, as a consultant, working with the FiOS Video team.  This is
a newly created team and they are looking for a couple more System
Engineers, one of which is primarily Linux support, so I wanted to
send you guys a note about it.  The Linux Support position is for
supporting somewhere around 50 RHES4 servers, and helping out with
Windows Administration (200 or so Windows servers).  They are also
looking for 2 or 3 Windows only guys if they are any of you that might
be interested.

Here are the official job descriptions that the recruiter sent me...


1. System Engineer: (Application Support Team)

Provide tier 2 and 3 application level support, responsibilities
include code deployment, troubleshooting, proactive monitoring, and
provide recommendations for process and application enhancements.
Manage and perform the process of deploying new systems, major
upgrades, and server builds and expansions.  Provide system, support,
and troubleshooting documentation



Need candidates with Windows 2003 having IIS (5or 6 ) experience



Note: Candidates must have heavy IIS (5 or 6), strong in Windows 2003,
some amount of SQL 2005 and must be willing to support applications in
a .Net Framework



2. System Engineers - Sys Admin (Linux Support)

Red Hat ES 64bit deployment, and support, Provide tier 3 level support
for application and OS related issues, fine tune the system, and
provide monitoring requirements initially and update it on going,
Provide support and troubleshooting documentation for tiers 1 and 2;
work with the vendors to report problems or to coordinate and deploy
application updates
