First off the access point needs to be running firmware with a linux kernel. All the current nodes are running OpenWRT but DD-WRT should work too. Second you will need to install wifi-dog ( http://dev.wifidog.org/ ) and make sure all the packages that wifi-dog needs are installed as well. I can help you set things up. Only problem is my free time is almost non-existent lately and rhino's is closed during the day when I do have free time.
Here is one thing work pointing out: If the hardware has limited flash storage for firmware and requires using a stripped down version of OpenWRT, DD-WRT or whatever firmware, then it probably won't be able to run wifi-dog because of all the package requirements.
