I agree that it is an interesting feature to provide, and that there may 
be some use for it.  For that reason, I would suggest that it be moved 
into a library routine - this will not only save on user confusion 
("Hey, I thought I was saving that as a tuple!") but will advertise it 
as an intentional feature rather than a hold-over from a simpler time 
or, worse, a mistake in the compiler.
