Hi, Louis! It need not be a person from Cray, just someone who's associated with Chapel, i.e., someone like a GSoC mentor, or someone under whom one can do a Chapel course, etc.
Not being a primary mentor shouldn't be a problem, as long as my mentor can fill the mentor evaluation form after the summer, in which I would be graded upon my performance throughout the summer. And yes, I'll be happy to work with Chapel, even if it's unpaid. I like the kind of work I did/am doing here.
