Okay guys... I really think the posting of promotional stuff is getting out of hand. I understand people want to push their works, but this list is primarily for discussion, not commercials.
I have made the following updates to the group's rules and welcome message: "1. If you want to post creative works (your own stories or poetry), do not post them directly to the list. Create a file in the Files section and upload your stuff there. Then you can post to the list letting people know you've added something and would like feedback. If people are interested, they'll read it. 2. If you have items for sale, there is a folder for this in the Files section. Upload to there. Once again, you may announce to the list - but only once. If people are interested, they'll contact you. 3. If you wish to promote a book or other project, again, do so one time. Please, don't send us daily updates on your latest sales figures, reviews, or awards. 4. If you wish to promote a website, add a link to it in the links section. Again, announce it ONCE. If people are interested, they'll visit. Understand that Chapel Perilous is intended to be a group for discussion. Your posts should primarily be focused on discussion of appropriate topics. If you are primarily interested in promoting products, events, your own or others works, this is not the right list. Promotional postings are subject to removal at the moderators' discretion.Persons found to be using the list exclusively to promote their stuff and not taking part in or encouraging discussion may be subject to being banned."
