Would you please post this message on all the sites you deal with.
Thanks.
Peabody Heights Resident Homeowners Alliance, Inc., is continuing to
sponsor their annual coat drive for children's coats during this time
of the year. We have already received requests from various schools
within our area and Margaret Brent has received coats that are being
distributed to homeless children within our area. When we advised the
Baltimore City School System that we had an additional 20 coats
available they received several requests from various schools within
the city. Because of the economy and the fact that many students
attending the public school system are homeless there is a greater
need this year than previously required. Kindly bring your used coats
to "The Book Thing" at Vineyard Lane and 30th Street for pick up and
if they are missing a few buttons don't worry, because we are getting
pretty good at replacing them. The coats will either be washed and/or
dry cleaned and will be distributed to those who need them without
question.
Please if you know of any family where children, under the age of 18
are going humgry, we have learned that any young person can go to any
number of schools in Baltimore City and they can receive either a
breakfast and/or lunch at that facility without question and without
having to attend that particular school. While there are not any
programs yet for the weekends that are openly available to children,
but several of the schools do have a program where they provide food
for the weekend for children who attend the respective schools to take
home. You may not realize that many children only get their
nourishment from these wonderful schools who offer this service.
When you are at The Book Thing, pick up a book and enjoy it.
Thank you,
Christian H. Wilson
