The Baltimore Bird Club invites everyone to join them in the dedication of an
eBird Trail Tracker kiosk in the Visitor Center at Cylburn Arboretum, a
Baltimore City Park.  This is the first Trail Tracker in Maryland.  After the
dedication ceremony at 10 am, noted Maryland birder Bill Hubick will present a
symposium on Birding in the Digital Age......about all the new electronic tools
in a birder's kit.......and with special focus on eBird.   The whole day will
be filled with great birding activities starting at 8:30 am - from bird walks
on the grounds, presentations on landscaping with native plants to attract and
sustain birds,  a mini-Big Sit, art and bird feeder building for kids, and a
chance to meet a representative of the other Bird Club in town - The Bird, the
Oriole mascot.  Les Eastman and Georgia McDonald will talk about hummingbirds
and Irma Weinstein will introduce you to the birds and butterflies that pass
through Cylburn.  Learn
more about the BBC's Lights Out Baltimore project and the devastation to birds
caused by glass strikes and what you can do about it.  There'll also be
activities for youth birders......including a pre-event for youth on Saturday.
And there will be live raptors and reptiles on display.  It's all free - except
for the beef barbeque.  Check out the BBC website for more information
at http://baltimorebirdclub.org/.  Here's a link to the schedule of events on
