John Gustafson <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Gustafson_(scientist)> is at it again. He has created yet another update to his Unum Number Format. He calls it Unum 3.0, which seems to be trying for a reasonable trade-off between implementation complexity and functionality. In this video he shows the improvements in error over IEEE 754, as well as a Julia implementation.
