I have IBM APL2 and J on my machine. I used both occasionally. (I work for IBM) I learnt APL back in 1971 on an IBM 1130 and later a System 370. The 'solution' is to allow unicode in J scripts so verbs can be assigned to a unicode string. Been requested in the past and turned down. When using J I call i. iota and $ rho in my head, go figure? I find APL easier to read. J is much more powerful. Tacit J can make J very hard to understand. -- Regards, Kym Farnik mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.farnik.com Trivia: My 1st Computer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_1130 Phone: +61 8 8265 5324 Mobile: 0438 014 007 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
