have you seen the wiki? http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/ also, for learning j and J programming questions, the programming mailing list is the preferred forum.
i have been struggling to get to grips with J, but i don't have the advantage of your experience with APL. i haven't found a tutorial or guide that really strikes a chord with me... but things like rosetta code i like: http://www.rosettacode.org/rosettacode/w/index.php?title=Change_string_case#J what would really be nice is to have a guide that takes apart programs written in c or python, or java and reduce them to j. the thing that most appeals to me about the apl family is concision, and to cut down procedural code to J, step by step would be a fun and instructive demonstration. ta, jack ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
