I am attempting to respond mostly to Skip Cave's
proposal to add keyword tags to documents. I do not have a
copy of his post for which to reply directly, so I am just
adding this preamble.
Whereas I think Skip's proposal has great merit, I
guess I am not optimistic about finding or developing such a
feature that people would create with a regularity that
would make it dependable. My strategy to overcome the lack
of such a system when I have sought information in the vast
jforum, jwiki, and beyond, has been to try for a while and
if I am unsuccessful, ask a question on the jforum. This
approach has worked well for me, but I suppose others may
not wish to or are not able to ask questions on the jforum.
It can be a little daunting to ask questions on the jforum
and it can take some time to get a reply, but I have been
rewarded with great responses, and have not been treated
unkindly afaik.
