Hey, I am not against someone doing this. I would love to see it help
Cherokee. In fact, I am hopefully opening a new company early next year
that will offer specialized hosting services and I hope to not use Apache.
I hope to offer Cherokee! :-) I realize it will make hurdles to jump
through, but I do hope to offer "better" solutions. :-)

I am not a C programmer so this whole thing does't apply to me, but I do
write code for a few open source projects, and I am working on an open
source web site framework. It takes a lot of hours and you have to love it
if your doing it for free. I think there were plenty of people who
expressed how to go about doing it. If there isn't anyone now, maybe there
will be in a few months. He could still contribute the code.

I think the right way to do it would be to put the code out there in open
source for people to look at and download. State what your are looking for
and your goals, and then see if anyone bites. It may take a while. The only
time code gets thrown away is when it is buried. Every developer on every
project has their own priorities.
