The next option is the compile¹ cherokee with --enable-debug, and then launch 
cherokee-admin with the following command line. That will hopefully shed some 
light over the issue.

  CHEROKEE_TRACE=all cherokee-admin -x

But.. before we get any further, we kind of skipped the obvious here. Your 
environment does have a working Python interpreter (version 2.4 or greater), 
right?
