For the user interface I would like to just press a button that says
something like "new configuration file" or "offline configuration".
Or, similar to Stefan's idea, starting cherokee-admin with an option
something like "--off-line-configuration".  Instead of errors for
,issing paths just give warrnings, or have another button that says
"generate missing paths".

Or, better IMHO, use no special flag, just when the point arrives
where you have to enter a path, give a warning but also a choice to
generate the missing path (and maybe keep a logfile of every
chrokee-admin session).
