I could not tell you for sure.  Since PHP in the piece in charge of
executing Moodle odds are it's a PHP configuration issue rather something
related to Cherokee. Remember that php-cgi/php-fpm does not use the same
configuration file as you old Apache server -- For instance,
/etc/php/cgi/php.ini against /etc/php/apache/php.ini.
