   Its beeen a long time, but this should get you started.  Hopefully
someone who has more experience than I will tell us both where I am wrong
:). 

1-Make sure tranny is in neutral.
2- There should  bushings where the linkage goes into the shifter and
tranny arms - make sure that they are present and not worn.  Replace if
necessary.
3-Also check the linkage arm ends for wear.
2-there are holes in the shifter arms at the bottom of the handle- put a
bolt or screwdriver that is about the same diameter (5/16???) thru all 3
shifter arms.  You may have to disconnect one or more of the linkage arms
to get it thru all 3.
4-adjust the fitting at the end of the shifter linkage till they fit in
the tranny arms with the shifter arms "Pinned".
That should do it.
And again - hopefully someone will update this with some curent info.
