Hi Rich,
The 200-4R is indeed metric. If you look at the bottom of the pan it
says "METRIC" right on it. I've been inside a few of these trannies lately.
B-). I did research on the 200-4R (talking to different tranny folks &
obtaining tech info, reading the ATSG manual, finding articles, etc) for over
a year before attempting a rebuild of this overdrive. I have a 3" thick
binder with info regarding this overdrive. So far I have rebuilt two 88 MCSS
units (w/ Hardened stator, PTS parallel decked 10 vane pump, Level 10 rebuild
kit with all new clutches/steels, bearings & seals, B&M Stage II shift kit,
PTS high volume sump, TCI non-computer controlled lockup kit, new TV bracket
and cable, and TCI performance tranny cooler). Have a 13mm socket handy for
the pan bolts and a 10mm for the valve body bolts and a GOOD set of snap ring
pliers! And a ton of carb cleaner and even more patience. Then there is the
esoteric GM J-XXXX tools needed to check tolerances, but that is another
story....
