[Chevelle-List] 2nd request, Chevelle headlamp side molding

Any insight on this topic that I have posted.  Actually I am truly wanting thought and feedback on this issue. I am going to keep my mouth shut and will no longer air my thoughts and opinions on other topics outside of the Chevelle stuff. Again, any thoughts regarding the post below would be greatly appreciated.

I have a paint design question on the headlamp side molding of a 66 SS Chevelle. The question is whether the head lamp side molding is painted solid flat black or chrome ribbed with flat black painted strips between those chrome ribs? I have seen several 66 SS cars with either one or the other. I have also noticed all 66 Malibu's do not have that side molding painted solid flat black but stripped. �I also noticed the same at the Chevelle Midwest Regional this year.

I have looked at the following car magazines listed below which have 66 SS Chevelles donated by GM for a variety of performance and handling test. All these GM factory direct delivered Chevelles display the solid flat black head lamp side moldings. After reading all the articles and viewing the black and white PICS I am leaning or beginning to believe these molding are solid flat black to compliment the painted flat black SS grill. �What all do you folks believe is correct on the 66 SS Chevelle? �I think I will follow the documented article magazine pictures I have seen to date.
