I located a short style power steering pump from a 68 chevy 350 suburban.
and I tried installing it on my 68 chevelle just to find out that it does
not clear my steering box even if I adjust it as far as possible away from
the steering box. I may be wrong but I think this will only fit a camaro or
the donor vehicle. Does anyone know what other type of pump will fit with
brackets. My current bracket has the two vertical bolts that bolt up to the
driver side of the block on the driver side of the water pump while the
other piece bolts to the motor mount. My question, If I find a power
steering bracket with pump from a later model long style say Monte Carlo or
what ever does anyone on this list know if it will bolt up and not have any
alignment problems with the short style original pulley configuration ?

On another note, I found a 67 chevy Impala 4-door with the 327/ 275 horse
motor and it had camel hump heads, a/c, power steering "missing",ram horns
and, air cleaner which looks like the base plate for a Holley carb since it
has the two dimples in the front & back to clear the needle screws on top
of the carb. Anyway is this also the base engine option for the 68
chevelle? I thought only camel humps came in performance option vehicles
only? I didn't think they would carry the option of A/C.
