VERY true!!!! most commonly experenced when thermostat is removed..... a radiator is a "heat exchanger", if ya pump the water through it tooo fast it wont have enough time to transfer heat,Also,your rad cap is designed ta handle 12-17lbs of pressure, depending on appilication,your water pump produces more than this for the simple fact that for every 2pounds of pressure you have in your cooling system you raise the boiling point of water 1 degree[boiling causes steam pockets and serious damage can result!!!!]the secondary purpose of a thermostat is ta maintain the "presure"point in the block where its needed. With out a thermostat the pressure point moves to the rad cap which cant contain it, you lose water, you get steam pockets,you over-heat, you kill motor!!!! SIMPLE STUFF WHEN YOU"RE AWARE OF THE WAY "CLOSED SYSTEMS" ARE DESIGNED TA WORK.........
