I won't do anything to it, just leave it "as is" because the brakes worked
fine before taking the parts off the car.

Maybe you could also tell me why the front line is 3/16" and the rear is
1/4", is this just to avoid mixing them up or does it have a purpose

I believe it's called the brake metering valve.

It's a feature of all mixed disc and drum systems but it's almost always
a part of the combination valve (picture at
http://www.ucalgary.ca/~csimpson/Tech/Combo.jpg shows the combined valve
with the metering valve at left side.)  Only the early disc cars have
the metering valve as a separate part.

Supposedly you should hold that valve open (or closed, I forget which)
when you bleed the brakes but I don't think most people worry about it.

Oh, and if it ever gives you problem most brake shops will never figure
it out <long story goes here>  Most shops don't understand the older
brake systems enough to actually diagnose a problem beyond "We'll have
to replace everything." :(
