You might want to rethink that.  I've lived in Lawton, OK (Fort Sill) for 20+ years and many cars here are registered from home states.  That doesn't mean they still don't have to comply with Oklahoma laws.  That includes too loud an exhaust, stereo, and even how deep a tint you can legally have on your windows. I'm sure that if Virginia has laws on noise levels, exit points, etc., you'll have problems explaining why your car on their streets doesn't comply with their laws.  Licenses, tags, etc. may be from your home state, but I'd watch the laws of the state.

Virginia is a Commonwealth! Don't ask me the difference between a Commonwealth and a State, but there are some.

Anyway, just wondering. I grew up on Dahlgren, a Navy and Coast Guard base in VA and I should have remembered that!

And yes, another good benefit of being in the military!

What's the Commonwealth?  Is that like the DMV?

If it is, I'm active duty Coast Guard and the Elky is registered/licensed/insured in my home state of Arizona - so the Commonwealth has no say in my exhaust system.

I guess that's one of the benefits of being military. :)

Sweet!

Did the Commonwealth give you a hard time about the exhaust system?
