Title: Re: [Chevelle-List] LED Taillights for '67 & '70 Chevelles
I did pay for them and I'd probably buy another set.  I'll check my 67 Elky when I get back Sunday from the MAD/WACO show/drags at Arkansas City and see if they'd fit that at well.  May get another set for it too.

Dale,

The question in my mind is, if you had to pay for them, would you buy???

Brad,

I put a set of these in my 67 Chevelle a few months ago as a ~test~ subject for these guys.  You have to remove the tail lamp housing to remove the bezel and finally the lens.  The LEDs mount to the outside (not though a plug in socket like the bulb) via a simple 3/16" stud and grommet arrangement.  I have some very ~unscientific~ before and after pictures in my blacked out garage for comparison, and steps on what it took to install them in my car at my "dalesplace" link below.  On the home page is a link to LED Tailight Installation.  The pictures are not conclusive to view but the lamps are much brighter especially in the sunlight.

Hello Chevelle Owners,

Our company, Technostalgia, designs, manufactures, and sells LED taillight conversions for classic cars.  We have just introduced two new models for the '67 and '70 Chevelle.

These LED assemblies (called arrays) replace the old 1157 bulb in your taillights.  The tail / turn / stop function are handled by very bright LEDs.  The arrays fit under your stock taillight lens.  Stock appearance is maintained while the lights are off.  These units are very bright, generate no heat, and will last for the life of your car.  The arrays bolt-in to factory holes in your taillight housing.

The cost is reasonable; $89.95 for the '67 Kit and $99.95 for the '70 kit.

Very cool idea (I had this about ten years ago before the LEDs were powerful enough), but the price seems really high.  Have you yet been able to crate a true 1157 replacement with equivalent brightness?  How do you get the PC board through the tail light housing, or do you have to disassemble the whole thing?
