A buddy of mine recently purchased a 66 Chevelle that has some rather interesting things about it. First off, although it has a 396 engnie right now, it has all of the badging for a 427. It even has a cowl plenum air cleaner. Additionally, the license plate frame says "Dana Chevrolet".
Does anyone know if Dana made a 427 Chevelle in '66? Could this possibly be a prototype that never came to be? Anyway of checking the history of this car based on the VIN number?
