The 409 was a good engine, not as good as the newer big blocks but it still made 425hp. It is a very rare engine today & very valuable if it's in good condition. Parts are rare & expensive though. Don  I have the opportunity to purchase a 63 Impala Convertible. It has a 409 motor in it, and I was wondering if anyone has any information about this motor. Is it reliable, expensive, powerful, a boat anchor, anything at all will help. Thanks all. Dan McIntosh 65 Malibu
