Not hard at all. The biggest job is removing the old and cleaning the area in preparation for your install. I like the black 3-M black heavy duty weather strip adhesive, runiinh a 1/6 to 1/8 bead between the locating plugs. As for brands. Soft Seal or Metro ( I never used Steel) Metro rubber is Softer sponger on compression. They both are good products. But the Soft Seal on a Door wheater Strip, takes longe for the foam/rubber to compress and let the door sit flush. And you still most likly will have to readjust the striker pin. After some time everything will conform and then IMO. both products are the same. My .02
