Just went through this last weekend.

Run a 16 gauge (or better) wire from a 15amp lead on your fuse box to the switch and then from the switch to the tranny.  I bought the B&M switch, but also had to purchase a throttle bracket to mount it in place.  With the throttle at about 90%, the switch should engage.

Thanks for the picture. I have seen those switches before just have to think what it was on.

Now do you send Positive down or negative 12 volts to the transmission. My way of thinking is there is already ground there and when you want it to kick down you send positive down to it.
Don't know????

I have a TH400 and do not have the kick down hooked up.  You really do not need it.  When I have to pass someone, I manually drop it into 2nd gear.  However, if you choose to hook it up, you will need the bracket and switch that mounts to the gas pedal.  I have a picture of it that I will email to you off list.  The wiring is nothing more than a ground and lead wire running to the switch on the side of the transmission.
