Well, GM usually runs a few cars through the assembly line before the production run starts, and these are called Pilot cars.  I have no idea if they marked the VIN tags or even kept them.  Any knowledgeable folks know for sure?

Subject: [Chevelle-List] 67 Chevelle VIN#

A guy sent me an email with the following messages:

I have a 1967 Chevelle with what appears to be the original VIN tag on the firewall but the paperwork on the car and the VIN # say PILOT24 what is this car?

Anyone have any idea what this means??

Thanks

Donnie
