I am not a 100% sure with the 67 but I think a yellow comes up from the starter and another one comes from the fuse block to the Coil. The problem is if you put a volt meter from those 2 to ground I think it's only around 9 Volts. The wire coming from the fuse block is a resistive wire which knocks the voltage down. You have to feed the HEI with 12 volt, if you want all it can give.
I usually find a feed that turns off with the key to feed it with. I could be wrong so also check it out. Its been a while since I did the 1966 chevelle. Back to the restoration....
