Anyone using Snap-On's engine stand? Those are very nice and have a gear driven crank that allows you to turn the engine a degree at a time. Cost is around $225 but the quality is outstanding.

If it's not free, I would buy the 1,000 lbs unit.  I have a 750 from Auto Zone and it does a lousy job of holding a SBC.  It works but the way the motor tilts down you would think something is about to break.  There is no way I would put a BBC on it unless it had aluminum heads.

A co-worker of mine has an engine stand he wants to sell.  He used it for a
small block and I don't know how well it will hold my big block.  He sent
me a picture and it looks like the 750lb. stand that Harbor Freight
sells.  What do you guys think?  Will it hold the big dog?  Maybe I can
have an extra brace welded on........
